The staff were very friendly and greated everyone. If you needed anything they were there. Great staff!!!
The pillows were either to soft or to hard. We usually bring our own and we didn't this time our mistake. Feather comforters are nice when it is cold but the weather was great and comforter was to Hot and there were no other blankets. First night there was a todler crying most of the night but that is not the hotel's falt, it is a family place. We would have liked to know they were renivating the pool and hot tub before we went down there. Summertime is not the time to do that.
The location of the hotel was perfect because it was in the middle of all the sights we planned on seeing. We also liked the sports bar that is apart of the hotel. It made it nice for my husband and I to have some appetizers and few drinks before going up to our room.
The bed...very comfortable!!
The noise of other guest next door, banging of doors, their kids running around. The swimming pool was close on the second day we stayed. One of the reasons why I chose Marriott is because of the swimming pool.
No teenager's in site
Location to downtown setting.
Hotel room lacked in room coffee service and was not the room requested upon arrival. Too much noise from surrounding rooms due to children, but understood as a family setting.
Compared to Embassy Suites, Monterey Marriot really lacks in comfort and quality. Having two rooms with two tvs (in every room), like Embassy Suites, is priceless. At this Marriot, rooms are hard to find. The elevators are lame. The lobby is lame. The room service food is pretty bad (especially the calamari). Worst of all, valet parking is mandatory and the Marriot costs $135-175 more than Embassy Suites. I'm sticking to Embassy Suites.
The room was so not worth the money! The valet parking lady was rude and the situation was terrible.
Beds and space of the room are good.
Valet parking is expensive and there is no other private parking near the hotel.public parking only. towels are old and No tooth brush, tooth pasete, shaver and so on were kept on.the wqashstand.
It was convienient and in excellent condition.
The parking was by valet and the front bumper of the rental car was badly scoffed with red paint wyhen it was brought to me. I didn't notice it until I had left the hotel.
The location is good. You can walk to the main attractions, although it is a long hike.
Too expensive for what is offered. The hotel front desk staff were not helpful, It always surprises me when people who deal with the public are apathetic or rude.
The front desk asked what brought us to Monterey and I told her our 23 year anniversary. My husband and I took a walk down to the pier when we returned they had sent a nice bottle of champayne and chocolate dipped strawberries what a treat.
My favorite thing about the Monterey Marriott was the staff ! They were very catering to all of our needs . They brought is wine glasses and an opener , a baby crib and a fridge ,complimentry . The vallet parking was WELL worth the $20 per day . They got our car really fast when we called for it . The bell hops we ON IT !
Well we paid extra for a "bay View" . I dont think our room was a "bay view " You had to walk out the teenie tiny balcony and stretch over the side to see the tiny glimpse of the bay . That was disappointing . A patio would have been nice to sit out on , instead it was just a little balcony that a little chair couldnt even sit on . The room was smaller than expected , but fine .
The lifts. Only 2 of the 3 were working. This delayed people anywhere between 10-15mins waiting for a lift. It frustrated everyone, and left a negative image of the hotel which will impact people's decision about whether to return or not.
Our housekeeper was amazing! She was so friendly -- we loved her. We also loved the server at the 3 Flags restaurant. He remembered us each morning and even recognized us outside of the hotel!
Valets felt like we were being rushed.
The staff was excellent in all ways service was good
We were expecting a Bay view as advertised and had a struggle to see it, room was good except fan in bathroom was covered in dust a litttle too much $$$ for what we receieved, was looking forward to that view
